Prominent local media lawyer Kelli Sager has joined the National Center for State Courts’ Lawyers Committee, the Virginia-based center announced yesterday.

Sager, a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has worked with the center for three years to develop model policy on public access to court records, the center explained in a release.

Members of the Lawyers’ Committee “serve in a leadership role with a commitment to support the National Center’s mission, to actively participate in outreach to the bar and the legal community, and to encourage support for the National Center’s programs and initiatives,” the center explained.

Sager’s practice focus is on communications, media, intellectual property and entertainment law. She represents television, radio, motion picture, and newspaper clients as well as authors, producers and publishers. Her clients include the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and MTV Networks.

She has also represented the California First Amendment Coalition in media access cases.

The National Law Journal included Sager in the top 50 women litigators in the country in 2001, and she has been accorded numerous other honors, including listing in several editions of “Best Lawyers in America.”
