Filing Fees Go Up Today in Civil, Family, Probate Cases
The fee for filing the first paper in a civil, family law, or probate case will rise by $1, effective today, court officials said.
The increase will fund children’s waiting rooms in county courthouses, as authorized by state law and an earlier county Board of Supervisors resolution, the court explained in its announcement.
A revised schedule of filing fees is to be posted today on the courtís Website, www.lasuperiorcourt. org, and is to be made available at clerk’s offices where civil, family law, and probate cases are filed.
