Correction
Stories on Page 3 of the MetNews on Thursday and Friday misstated the number of judicial candidates in the March 2 primary election who are known to have received “well qualified” ratings from the Judicial Elections Evaluation Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. There are eight such candidates.
Deputy District Attorney Judith L. Meyer was inadvertently omitted from the list of candidates rated “well qualified” in both stories. Meyer’s “well qualified” rating was reported by this newspaper Jan. 22.
The MetNews regrets the error.
Meyer is one of five candidates vying to succeed Judge James Wright.
Other candidates who have so far revealed they have been rated “well qualified” are Judges Dan Oki and David Wesley, each of whom faces three challengers; Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Miguel Dager, one of four candidates for the seat being vacated by Judge Marcus Tucker; Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey S. Gootman, who is among six candidates seeking to succeed Judge Richard Hubbell; Deputy District Attorney Craig J. Mitchell and Superior Court Referee D. Zeke Zeidler, both of whom are among six candidates seeking the seat currently held by Judge Rosemary Shumsky; and Deputy District Attorney Laura Priver, one of three candidates running to succeed Judge Nancy Brown.
