Canoga Park Law Firm Sues Beverly Hills Personal Injury Attorney Alan Schuchman Alleging Failure to Pay Fees

By a MetNews Staff Writer

The Canoga Park law office of Richard Lester is suing Beverly Hills personal injury attorney Alan Schuchman for failure to pay fees awarded to Lester in a decision resulting from binding arbitration offered by the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Century City attorney John D. Bronstein, selected by the county bar to be the arbitrator for the dispute, awarded $3,100.59 to Lester in September of last year.  But Schuchman still hasn’t paid, Lester’s suit alleges.

The dispute revolves around a wrongful death lawsuit that has been settled with an amount exceeding $70,000 awarded to the victim’s widow.  Lester originally handled the case, but then referred his client to Schuchman, his complaint alleges. Lester claims he did extensive work to open and process his client’s claim, only to have Schuchman offer $530 for his services.
