Police Officer Charged With Drug Possession, Prosecutors Say

By a MetNews Staff Writer

A Los Angeles police officer arrested last month for alleged drunken driving was charged with multiple drug charges, including manufacture of the “date rape” drug GHB, prosecutors said.

Heather Sincock was arrested while off duty on Sept. 4 in Hermosa Beach and changed with possession of several kinds of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 30, she was suspended from her duties after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. After her arrest, an LAPD spokesman said, the police secured a search warrant for her house and car and found drugs and drug paraphernalia in her possession.

Sincock is charged with one count of manufacturing gamma-hydroxy butyrate, known as GHB or a “date rape” drug, one count of transporting GHB, two counts of possession of cocaine, and one count of possession of methamphetamines, all felonies, plus two misdemeanors: one count of driving under the influence and one count of possessing a hypodermic needle and syringe.

If she is convicted, Sincock could spend 13 years in prison. She is currently being held in lieu of $600,000 bail and is due back in court Sept. 11 for bail review and arraignment.

The prosecutor on the case is Valerie Aenlle-Rocha of the Justice System Integrity Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. A spokeswoman from that office said Aenlle-Rocha did not wish to comment on the case. An LAPD spokesman said police officials also did not wish to comment.

Sincock, 25, has been with the LAPD for three years. She is assigned to the Rampart Community Police Station. Prior to her arrest, she had just come back to work after disability leave.
