Funeral Service Slated for Monday Night for Justice Ramona Godoy Perez

A funeral mass will be said on Monday night for Court of Appeal Justice Ramona Godoy Perez of this district’s Div. Five.

The service for Godoy Perez, who died Wednesday age 54, will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at 11482 Los Alamitos Boulevard in Los Alamitos.  The public is invited, Div. Five Presiding Justice Paul A. Turner said.

Interment will be private, Turner said.

Godoy Perez was appointed to the Court of Appeal by then-Gov. Pete Wilson on Dec. 1, 1992, and confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments on Jan. 12, 1993. She previously served as a judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, under appointment by then-Gov. George Deukmejian, from Oct. 10, 1985 until her elevation.

She was a Los Angeles deputy city attorney at the time of her appointment to the bench.
